This Traffic21 project is focused on developing a system using low or no cost information gathering and dissemination to provide riders (and Port Authority staff) with real-time information regarding estimated arrival time and passenger load over the internet, mobile phones and telephones. Core technology from the RERC on Accessible Public Transportaion, Let's Go!, and the Ubicomp group is being integrated and extended for this work. The expansion of the CMU MyRide service is also incorporated in this project.
A prototype deployment within a portion of Pittsburgh is slated for the 2010 calendar year.
